cider friday....

Friday was a huge day for cider.......
After having breakfast at our usual spot we headed to the Pyramid stage for the opening performance which was Kate Nash or was it Kate's Snatch or Kate's Gash? I love her lyrics but her voice drives me mad! She did a large amount of screeching and we had a Cider Bus cider to make it feel better.
After we wandered over to the cabaret tent to chill and listen to some funny stuff. Not all was funny. Some sex change lesbian talking about suicide and golden showers was not needed. I think the kids in the front row got a good sex education lesson anyway! Me and Kev went for a bit of a wonder to explore the Greenfield. Such a wonderful part of Glastonbury. The knitting ladies were not there this time - boo but the digerydo men were. They are amazing. At this point I needed some homemade food so we wandered to Henry's Beard ( www.henrysbeard.com)Such lovely natural food in all its yummyness! I had to have Beard Curry, a yummy vegetable curry served with cous cous, tomato salad, cucumber and mint ratia (they have the recipe on their website) you could also have free tap water which was normally only available in bottles from the foodie places.
Meeting up with Dad later we were sent our first challenge by Ruth. She couldn't be there this year as she had just popped baby Sonny out, so she thought she would add to the fun from afar. The first challenge was Dad in a pink tutu. Not easy when your Dad is a big man and no one is going to want to take their tutu off anyway. We improvised. See pic in slide show.....
Anyway challenge done we headed for Candi Staton ( link )at the Jazz World. Oh she was amazing and everybody was going mad! This is the point of too much cider. We met up with some mummy's from Callums school. Danced like mad, probably drunk far too much festival strength cider. Went back to the tent for a little nap (this was 9.30!!) and then woke up at 9am Saturday morning.............
